St George school students, job seekers and community members will have the chance to meet and network with employers, industry professionals, and training providers at the Southern Sydney Skills and Jobs Expo 2024.
To be held at the Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah on Thurdsay, August 29 , the expo aims to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers.
The Southern Sydney Skills and Jobs Expo is a free event and is open to the general public.
Local schools are particularly invited to bring their students to explore the wide range of career options available.
The expo is being hosted by the newly rebranded Business Chamber South (formerly St George Business Chamber) in partnership with Local Jobs Program - Sydney East Metro and Regional Industry Education Partnerships from Training Services NSW.
The event will feature a range of businesses and government agencies showcasing their industries, providing attendees with insights into the skills and qualifications needed for various roles.
Businesses and government agencies will have booths where they can interact with attendees, provide information about their sectors, and discuss job openings and career paths.
There will be workshops and educational sessions on resume writing, interview skills, and career planning to help attendees prepare for their job search.
"We are thrilled to host the Southern Sydney Skills and Jobs Expo," Business Chamber South president Tony Baddour said.
"This event is an excellent platform for connecting job seekers with potential employers, and for students to gain a better understanding of the career opportunities available to them. Our goal is to support local employment and economic growth by facilitating these important connections."
